by which God measures our thoughts and actions?

How do we know
that we are indeed guilty of being sinners?

God has given us His guidelines in the Ten Commandments. When these commandments were given, God knew that no human being born of a man and woman would ever be able to follow them perfectly. So why were they given? According to the apostle Paul, in Romans 7:7, we would not know what sin was without the law. They were intended to lead us to the fact that ...all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
